Customer Reviews about United States Postal Service:

  • I had a great experience. There was a pretty long line, since it's that season and it was getting to the end of the day, but the employees were both friendly and efficient. I usually feel kind of like an idiot at post offices, never quite sure what the right option is, but the woman who helped me didn't make me feel that way at all. I think people probably tend to leave reviews of post offices after bad experiences, so I thought it was important to convey my good experience.

While waiting in line, a situation happened with a young girl who had taken her package to UPS. The USPS clerk (older, greyish hair, slightly heavyset) was telling her, of course, they don't have the package and that she should go back to the UPS location where she dropped it off. I guess UPS gave it to USPS, but now it can't be found. After this happened, the guy who was next in line tried to help the young woman and gave her some advice about a holding facility. The other USPS clerk (older guy) was calling next in line. The customer who had been helping the young woman who lost her package was finishing her sentence and the male clerk abruptly and loudly said, "NEXT PERSON IN LINE!" The other woman clerk shouted out and him and said, "[Unintelligible name] Watch your tone!" I thought that was, well, good that she noticed his tone, but bad she corrected him in front of the entire store filled with customers. About 10 minutes later, yes still in the long line, but the female clerk called out to the male clerk and was clearly angry. She asked if he had gone on break and he said, "No, you didn't tell me to go." She's like, "What?? I shouldn't have to tell you!! You should just know to go on your break!!" She threw a few more words at him and he just kind of kept working. Then I was finally next. This woman was so condescending, oh my GOSH! Now I know what the other negative reviewers were complaining about. I asked about tape and she nearly yelled at me for asking. She said, "If you don't have tape at home you can buy some here." I said, "Well, I have tape at home, but the last time I came there was tape on the counter so I figured there might be tape again." I pulled out a piece of paper I'd taken from the lobby to get the zip code I'd written down while waiting in the painstakingly long line. She's said, "OH!! We don't use those! Do you need scrap paper?!?" I said, "Well...uh...there was no scratch paper out in the lobby and I needed to write down a zip code." I thought she was going to jump out of her skin. OK fine, maybe it was wrong for me to use a tiny blue form they provide in the lobby (maybe for certified mail? not sure), but I think there's a better way to deal with customers. This is seriously only half of the horrible conversation we had. I'm just tired of writing. I was uncomfortable, she was condescending to me and I was embarrassed that she was treating me this way. I actually at one point told her to settle down because she was talking so loudly at me. Enough already!

If I could give a 0 I would. I went to pick up mail at my company's PO Box. I was yelled at by one of the employees because he wanted me to pick up the mail everyday. He continued to yell even after I had asked him to stop. There were other customers who were just starring at us. The nice lady who works there (can't remember her name) had to step in between us and ask the employee who was yelling at me to stop. This nice female employee deserves 5 stars she is the only one there who has ever been nice.
